I've got to admit that the author's name put me off a bit here, and I delayed reading this story. Then I realised that it was a Pros/Labyrinth (the movie with David Bowie) crossover, and I delayed a bit more. Plus, it had goblins.
And then I read it.
I really like this story! Against all odds, it really worked for me, and actually put me in a lovely Christmas-y type mood (although there's no mention of Christmas - who knows how my psyche works!). Bodie and Doyle remain beautifully in character all through their bizarre escapades, accepting what's happening completely as per their personalities, so that the story flows on without havign to worry to much about disbeliefs and so on - it all just seems very natural. Plus it's hot - there are some very nice moments, even when Doyle is wandering lost in the Forest of Dreams and so on.
If you can find this story - read it, and recommend it to your friends!
